Psychic Chat Ratings tests live psychic chat platforms the way a subscriber actually uses them: we buy accounts, spend real per-minute credits, and log what happens. This page explains who runs the site, how the testing works, how the scores are built, and how we make money doing it.

Who we are

Since 2019, Psychic Chat Ratings has covered one thing: live psychic chat. Not phone lines, not tarot apps, not horoscope newsletters — text-based, real-time sessions with a human reader on the other end. Narrowing the scope this way means our small team can actually sit through the sessions instead of skimming marketing pages, and it means our comparisons are apples-to-apples: the same billing model, the same interface constraints, the same kind of reader roster.

We are not a psychic service. We do not employ readers, and no reader on any platform we cover works for us. We are a small editorial team that pays for sessions like any other customer, keeps notes, and publishes what we found.

Why chat-only

Phone and video readings involve tone of voice, hesitation, and visible reactions that can shape how a reading is received — and that makes them harder to compare fairly across platforms. Chat readings leave a transcript. That transcript is the thing we actually evaluate: specific claims, how they were phrased, whether the reader asked leading questions, and how the session held together end to end.

How we test

Every platform we cover goes through a minimum testing window before it gets a published score, and we return to re-test on a running basis rather than scoring once and walking away.

What a score is built from

Every rating we publish is a weighted blend of five factors:

• Reader quality — specificity, consistency across sessions, and whether the reading held together without contradicting itself.
• Platform reliability — uptime, chat stability, and whether the session actually started when it was supposed to.
• Value for money — per-minute pricing relative to session quality, and whether trial pricing carried through to the regular rate.
• Customer support — how billing disputes, refund requests, and cancellations were actually handled when we tested them.
• User experience — how easy the interface makes it to find a reader, see pricing up front, and end a session cleanly.

The rating scale

Score	What it means
4.5–5.0	Excellent — consistently strong reader quality and no unresolved billing or reliability issues found in testing.
4.0–4.4	Very good — a solid platform with minor, non-recurring issues.
3.0–3.9	Good — usable, but with real gaps worth knowing about before you pay.
2.0–2.9	Below average — meaningful problems in at least one testing area.
Under 2.0	Not recommended — we do not link out to a platform scoring in this range.

We track thousands of individual reader profiles across the platforms we cover; ratings on those profiles range from unrated (a new or lightly-reviewed reader) up to 5.0, with the strongest consistently-rated readers averaging in the high 4s. Per-minute pricing across the readers we track spans roughly a dollar to the eighty-per-minute range at the premium end, which is why the value-for-money factor above carries real weight in a platform’s score.

Independence and how we make money

Psychic Chat Ratings is independent. No platform pays us for a review, for a higher score, or for placement on a ranking page — we do not have a paid-placement product to sell in the first place. We earn revenue through affiliate links: if you click through to a platform from one of our pages and sign up, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. That commission has no bearing on the score a platform receives — the highest-paying affiliate programme on our site is not, and has never been, our top-rated platform.

Editorial policy

• Every platform is tested on an account we pay for ourselves, under conditions we do not disclose to the platform in advance.
• A published score reflects testing evidence, not a platform’s own marketing claims.
• We disclose affiliate relationships plainly, on every page where they apply — see our disclaimer.
• We do not accept free access, gifts, or payment in exchange for coverage, a review, or a specific rating.
• When a platform changes materially (pricing, ownership, trial terms), we re-test before updating the published score.

Corrections policy

If you spot something on the site that is out of date or factually wrong — a price that has changed, a trial offer that no longer applies, a broken link — tell us. We investigate every correction request and update the page once we have verified the change ourselves; we do not take a reader’s or platform’s word for a change without checking it first.
